Are you migrating to high definition tapeless based video production workflows for your projects?
I've uploaded a Sony EX1 / EX3 handout covering card management tips for effective video production and video asset transfer to computer, hard drive or archiving system.

Getting the basics right will make life easier and manageable, this begins with having a simple procedure or system in place. Allowing the user or whoever the user collaborates with to make the media asset management and production workflow run smoothly.

It's amazing that a simple procedure like this is not being promoted or even advised on, as this keeps recurring.
Many people are still not properly labelling tapes or using user bits to help differentiate either project or camera the material will be shot for.

Now metadata will be an essential part of the media asset management
and production system, adequate systems not in place leading to
chaos.

It would be great to know what your thoughts are on this, are you dealing
with file base recording formats?

Plus we have a rather strange video experiment regarding freezing the recording media in ice, well worth watching.
